At Night and During Weekends

red_clockIf you telephone the Health Centre out of hours you will hear a message asking you to call NHS 24. You can also 'phone NHS 24 direct on 08454 24 24 24..

You can also visit  http://www.nhs24.com.

An experienced NHS 24 nurse will assess your symptoms and provide advice to help you look after yourself at home. If you need further assessment or treatment, either from a GP or at a local hospital, NHS 24's nurse will arrange this for you with existing local services.

In order to carry out an accurate assessment you will be asked for the following information: your name, address, telephone number, GP and any current medication.

 

NHS Direct

In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

OUR APPOINTMENT SYSTEM IS CHANGING

From Monday 13th May 2013 the method of booking appointments will change to the following;

When you telephone the surgery to make an appointment the Receptionist will ask you some questions to enable you to receive the best type of appointment.

Appointments will be available on a "book on the day" basis.

Book in advance appointments will be offered to workers.
